The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to support St. Vincent Meals on Wheels program of Los Angeles with a gift of $20,000. The program provides meals for shut-ins across a wide geographical area in Los Angeles. The delivery staff for the program is often the only people that some of the recipients see each day. The meals on wheels program at St. Vincent plays a critical role in providing food, support, and love to the people that they serve each day. The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to support such a great program.

The Sheehan Adopt A Family Project is a 501c(3) organization with a  goal to intervene in meaningful ways to help support, mentor and educate children within the Los Angeles area so that they do not ever become a victim of homelessness.  SAF’s goal has moved from only “adopting” families during the holidays by giving food, toys, money, and clothing to taking more direct action to prevent these vulnerable kids from becoming homeless. The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to have given a gift of $6,000 towards assisting this great cause.

The Region III Transition Program is a special education program that serves young adults ages18-21 with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Grandville, MI. The focus of the program is to develop functional life skills for students within the domestic, community, and pre-employment settings.

 

The program serves students from a broad socio-economic range as well as serving students that have a wide spectrum of needs. The Robert Nelson Foundation was honored to support this great program with a gift of $7,500.00 to assist with program needs.

Penny Lane Centers is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that cares for over 3,500 abused and neglected children, youth, and families a month. The organization provides therapeutic residential services, foster family home placements, adoption services, transitional and affordable housing, family preservation, Intensive Services and mental health services for children youth and families throughout Los Angeles County. The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to give a gift of $45,000 to assist with general programming needs as well as specifically to assist veterans in need.

Maggie’s Be Cafe

Maggie’s Be Cafe, located in Hudsonville, MI, is a coffee shop that employs approximately 23 individuals with a spectrum of disabilities. The vision of the cafe was to provide a place in the community where individuals with disabilities could have a sense of purpose, accomplishment, and connectedness through employment. The café is also staffed with employees who serve as mentors to the baristas and facilitators in operating the facility. The café which opened in June of 2021, has been a great success and has been a win/win for the community as well as for the staff and employees. The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to support the vision of Maggie’s Be café with a gift of $5,000 to assist with their vision of expansion and continued development.
