The Life Learning Center is a special education program that serves students ages 18-26 across a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds as well as serving students that exhibit a wide range of needs associated with their developmental disabilities. The goal of the program is to build confidence, appropriate social and communication skills, pre-employment skills, as well as functional life skills, all within community and domestic settings. The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to have given a gift of $7,500 to assist with the Life Learning Center’s program needs.

San Joaquin Delta College of Stockton, CA operates The Veterans Resource Center (VRC) that serves as the centralized hub for all student veteran, service member, and dependents needs. The center offers a wide array of services and resources, including a space where student military affiliates can connect with one another or participate in the Student Veterans Alliance (SVA) Club.  The VRC is designed to be sensitive to the transition from military to civilian life as well as education success. 

The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to announce that is has provided an $18,500 grant to be used solely for the purpose of establishing a peer-to-peer mentoring program under a three-year contract using the PAVE program. The Robert Nelson Foundation is honored to be associated with such a wonderful program as The Veterans Resource Center.

Founded in 1978, CASA/LA is an independent nonprofit organization that recruits, trains, and supports qualified volunteer advocates who transform the lives of children and youth in LA County’s child welfare system The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to give a gift of $15,000.00 to this organization that helps so many children in the Los Angeles area.

Food Forward

Food Forward is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to fight hunger and prevent food waste by rescuing fresh surplus produce, connecting this abundance with people in need and inspiring others to do the same. The produce recovered by Food Forward is donated to 350+ hunger relief agencies in Los Angeles and seven surrounding counties., college student assistance programs, Food Forward’s initial response to the COVID-19 pandemic in spring 2020 was the launch of a large-scale emergency expansion initiative to help meet the great and growing need for free and fresh food.

The Robert Nelson Foundation proudly partners with this great organization to help feed the hungry and aid with this expansion with a gift of $20,000.00.

PESA (Parents,Educators/Teachers & Students in Action) is a non-profit entity that has been able to partner with various government agencies to improve our community. Through these partnerships PESA has been able to support the Teen Court Program of the Los Angeles Superior Court, Safe Passage Program of the Los Angeles City Attorney Office, Pathways to Law School Program of the Los Angeles Community College District, and special needs children residing in the County of Los Angeles.

Plumas Crisis Intervention & Resource Center (PCIRC) is a non-profit organization providing services to those in need in Plumas County, CA for over 38 years. The Dixie Fire Relief Fund has been established to support an array of emergency services to meet the needs of survivors and those who are displaced those in need in Plumas County.

All program participants receive intensive case management and are provided with basic needs including food, clothing, hygiene supplies, diapers/wipes and camping equipment, and gift cards for gas/food as available. Emergency housing through motel sheltering is provided to those with the greatest need based on availability in the region.

The Robert Nelson Foundation is proud to support this agency as it helps the residents of these communities face the challenges as a result of the wildfires in CA. The foundation has given a gift of $50,000.00 to help the Plumas Crisis Intervention & Resource Center with their efforts.

By reaching out to our small part of the world when we needed it most gave our staff the hope and strength to meet each day. We thank you for joining us in this partnership with your foundation during this journey.
